Opinion: Virus risk will rise if students return to dorms, dining halls and clas

A Georgia Tech scientist says the return of students to college campuses is unjustified. Georgia – like many other states – is experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and fatalities. This surge will be intensified by bringing back thousands, if not tens of thousands, of students to high-density campus life featuring dorms, dining halls, classrooms, and parties, says Dr. Joshua Weitz. He urges the University System of Georgia to change course – now.
