Sirtuins are nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+)-dependent protein lysine deacylases regulating metabolism and stress responses; however, characterization of the removed acyl groups and their downstream metabolic fates remains incomplete. Here we employed untargeted comparative metabolomics to reinvestigate mitochondrial sirtuin biochemistry.
