Text and data mining will become easier, quicker and cheaper: outcome of UK consultation on copyright and AI development published

The UK Intellectual Property Office has published the outcome of its consultation on the relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and IP rights. On the copyright aspects of the consultation, the headline is that the government intends to extend the current text and data mining exception, giving AI developers greater access to data to train AI tools than ever before.
