Mackinac Island ferry service fears gas prices may affect vacation plans

Michigan's island vacation destination is also feeling the pinch at the pump. Mackinac Island ferries run off massive diesel engines while their bus and tram services between lots and the docks run throughout the season. Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry service raised prices by 3 dollars for this season to make up the difference of both higher wages, which is at 20-dollars per hour, and rising fuel costs.
